The Hebrew superscription מִשְׁלֵי שְׁלֹמֹה (Mishlei Shlomo) opens the second major collection within the book of Proverbs (chapters 10–22:16), distinct from the instructional discourses of chapters 1–9. The contrast between joy and grief is rendered with surgical economy in Hebrew: שִׂמְחָה (simchah, gladness/celebration) for the father and תּוּגַת (tugah, anguish/grief) for the mother — the emotional weight falls differently on each parent, perhaps reflecting distinct social roles in the household. FOG preserves the Hebrew name Shlomo and renders the emotional contrast with direct nouns; FOG Message draws out the experiential weight with 'heartache' to make the mother's suffering viscerally felt.
