The word *Torah* (תּוֹרָה) here carries its root meaning of *instruction that points the way* (from *yarah*, to direct or aim), not the Mosaic Law in its full technical sense — yet the word choice is deliberate and honouring. A mother's teaching is accorded the same weighty, directional authority as covenantal law. FOG preserves 'Torah' so the reader hears the covenantal register unmistakably; FOG Message renders it 'teaching' to keep the domestic warmth without losing the gravity.
