Footnotes
*Sheol* (שְׁאוֹל) is the Hebrew underworld — the realm of the dead, conceived as a vast, insatiable throat (cf. Isa. 5:14, where Sheol 'opens wide its *nephesh*'). The gang's boast is chilling: they compare themselves to death itself, consuming the living whole and unbroken. FOG retains 'Sheol' to preserve this mythic-cosmological depth; FOG Message uses 'the grave' for accessibility while retaining 'the pit' (*bor*) to keep the underworld imagery alive.
