πίστεως Χριστοῦ is one of the most contested genitives in Paul's letters. It can be read as an objective genitive ("faith in Christ," the believer's act of trust — the traditional reading F.O.G Message preserves) or a subjective genitive ("the faithfulness of Christ," His own covenant-keeping obedience — the reading F.O.G adopts). Both are grammatically valid; v.9's broader logic of all-sufficiency residing in Messiah rather than self may lend slight weight to the subjective reading. The two versions together deliberately hold both poles of this genuine exegetical tension.
