The phrase וּדְעוּ חַטַּאתְכֶם אֲשֶׁר תִּמְצָא אֶתְכֶם (*ude'u chatta'techem asher timtsa etchem*) is memorably haunting: 'know that your sin will find you.' The verb מָצָא (*matsa*) is the ordinary word for stumbling upon something or meeting someone unexpectedly on the road—sin is here quietly personified as a relentless tracker, patient and inevitable. The sentence became proverbial in both Jewish and Christian tradition, cited whenever consequence catches up with concealed wrongdoing. Both FOG and FOG Message preserve the phrase almost verbatim, since the Hebrew needs no improvement and every word lands.
