The *אֶשְׁכּוֹל* (*Eshkol*, "cluster") of grapes requiring two men and a carrying pole is the land's own testimony to its abundance—confirming Yahweh's covenant description before a single battle is fought. Theologically, this is the pivot of the chapter: the same evidence of blessing will be acknowledged in v.27 and then turned to slander in v.32. The fruit does not change; only the faith of those interpreting it.
