*Peh el-peh* ('mouth to mouth') is a bold idiom for intimate, unmediated communication—two faces close enough to feel each other's breath. *Temunah* (תְּמוּנָה) means 'form, shape, visible likeness'—the same word used in the Decalogue's prohibition on making any *temunah* of Elohim (Deut. 4:12, 15): what Israel may not image in stone, Mosheh sees directly. *Chidot* ('riddles, dark sayings') stands in sharp contrast—most prophets wrestle with obscure imagery; Mosheh receives plain speech.
