*Qiḇrôt HaTTaʾăwâ* means 'the graves of the craving/desire,' with the root *ʾwh* linking directly back to *taʾăwâ* in v. 4 and the verb *hitʾawwû*. The people's craving becomes their epitaph—the appetite that drove them is inscribed on their burial ground. This place-name functions as a monument to consequence, embedding the moral of the narrative into the geography of the wilderness journey itself.
