The verb *shuvah* ('return/come back') invites YHWH to come home to His people—a tender counterpoint to the battle-cry of v. 35. Together the two prayers frame the entire movement of the Ark: YHWH goes out as warrior and returns as shepherd-king dwelling once more among the host. The phrase *rivevot alfei Yisra'el* ('ten thousands of thousands of Israel') is not a census figure but an expression of the beloved, innumerable covenant multitude. The preposition allows reading both 'to' (YHWH returning *to* the camp) and 'among' (returning *within* the community)—both are grammatically defensible and carry different devotional weight. FOG renders *shuvah* as 'Return'; FOG Message uses 'Come back... come dwell' to capture both the relational warmth and the theology of divine immanence settling once more among His people.
