The image of persecutors sinking 'like a stone' directly echoes the Song of the Sea (Exod. 15:5, 10) — this prayer is deliberately citing Israel's oldest liturgical memory. 'Surging/mighty waters' (*mayim 'azzîm*) evoke the primordial chaos-waters of creation, now weaponised against Israel's enemies. The cosmos itself becomes an instrument of divine justice.
