Elul (אֱלוּל) falls in late summer, roughly August–September. Fifty-two days for a complete circuit-wall rebuild around Yerushalayim/Jerusalem is remarkable by any human reckoning—Josephus (Antiquities 11.5.8) records two years and four months, almost certainly in error or referring to additional construction phases. The theological weight is carried precisely in the brevity of the statement: what decades of discouragement and opposition had made impossible, focused, faithful obedience accomplished in under two months. The verse's terseness mirrors the achievement—no elaboration is needed when YHWH/God has acted.
