I said to them, 'We have done everything in our power to redeem our Jewish brothers sold off to the nations—and yet here you are, selling your very own brothers, forcing them to be redeemed by us all over again!' They were silenced and had nothing to say.
I said to them, 'As best we could, we bought back our Yehudi brothers who had been sold to the Gentile nations—and now you are selling your own brothers, only for them to be bought back by us!' They fell silent and could not find a word to say.
And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.
and said, “We have done our best to buy back our Jewish brothers who were sold to foreigners, but now you are selling your own brothers, that they may be sold back to us!” But they remained silent, for they could find nothing to say.
