He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

Footnotes

The route of the first procession — from the Dung Gate (south), through Ir David/City of David, past the royal house, to the Water Gate (east) — is laden with covenantal memory. It was at the Water Gate that Ezra had read the Torah to the whole assembly (Neh. 8:1–3). This procession retraces the path of covenant renewal, making the city itself a living text: sacred boundary consecrated, royal line honoured, the word of God remembered in stone and song.
