Eklektous (ἐκλεκτούς), drawn from the Hebrew bechirim (בְּחִירִים), carries full covenantal weight — these are not random survivors but those chosen within YHWH's covenant purposes. F.O.G renders "chosen ones" to preserve the active, relational quality of divine election; F.O.G Message uses "elect" for its theological precision, even as it risks losing the warmth of the Hebrew concept.
