The Greek koinoō (κοινόω) means "to make common," i.e., to render something profane or ritually unclean — functionally equivalent to the Hebrew tameh (טָמֵא). F.O.G retains tameh to anchor the teaching within the Jewish purity-law framework Yeshua is deliberately reorienting toward the ethical. F.O.G Message uses "defile" for readability, preserving the seriousness of the ritual impurity concept.
