Footnotes
βλασφημεῖ — the charge of blasphemy in Second Temple Judaism was triggered by appropriating divine prerogatives. Their logic is theologically airtight within their own framework: only God forgives sin (cf. Isa 43:25; Ps 103:3). Yeshua/Jesus does not refute their premise — He inhabits it, which is precisely the point: His claim of authority in v.10 confirms rather than denies that only God can do this.
