"Son of Man" (υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου / בַּר אֱנָשׁ) carries dual freight: the heavenly figure of Daniel 7:13–14 invested with divine authority, and an Aramaic idiom meaning "a human being/I." The text holds divine inevitability ("as it is written") and human moral agency ("woe to that man") in unresolved tension — a characteristically Hebrew paradox.
