εὐαγγέλιον (euangelion) — the Greek herald-term for a "good announcement," used in Roman culture for victory proclamations from the battlefield. FOG renders it "Good News" to recover the proclamatory and public force of the original; FOG Message uses "gospel," the traditional and liturgically weighted English term. The divergence is intentional: both are accurate, and each serves a different register.
