The Greek hypomone is far stronger than mere patience. It is the quality of standing firm under sustained pressure — active, resolute endurance in the face of opposition, testing, and delay. The F.O.G renders it "patient endurance" to preserve both the active and passive dimensions; the F.O.G Message uses "steadfast endurance" to foreground its robust, unmovable quality, drawing out the covenantal picture of a person who does not merely wait but holds the ground.
