"Son of Man" renders the Greek ho huios tou anthrōpou (ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου), which in turn renders the Aramaic bar enash (בַּר אֱנָשׁ). In its immediate register it simply means "a human being" or "this human one" — a self-referential idiom. But charged with Daniel 7:13–14, where the "son of man" is a heavenly figure given eternal dominion by the Ancient of Days, the phrase carries explosive Messianic force. Yeshua is not merely claiming humanity but associating Himself with the cosmic figure who receives universal authority from the throne of heaven.
