ouranos — "sky/heaven." F.O.G renders it "skies" to preserve the physical, meteorological reality: the rain-bearing heavens were literally locked (1 Kings 17:1). The three-and-a-half years reflects developed rabbinic tradition (cf. James 5:17). Yeshua is loading a deliberate theological provocation: YHWH bypassed the widows of Yisra'el entirely. The grenade is primed.
