Soudarios — a cloth for wiping sweat (related to Latin sudarium). Storing a mina in a sweat-rag rather than investing it signals not caution but contempt. Notably, the same word appears in John 11:44 for Lazarus's burial cloth — the servant has, in effect, entombed his master's money.
