The unit batos (βάτος) is the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew bath (בַּת), a liquid measure of roughly 8–9 gallons; one hundred baths is a substantial commercial quantity, perhaps representing the annual yield of 150 olive trees. The FOG version preserves the Hebraic unit explicitly; the FOG Message opts for the more accessible "measures" while the footnote supplies the original precision.
