eis ton kolpon Abraam (εἰς τὸν κόλπον Ἀβραάμ) = "into Abraham's bosom/chest/lap." Kolpos is the reclining space beside someone at a banquet — the seat of highest honour (cf. John 13:23, where the Beloved Disciple reclines en tō kolpō of Jesus). El'azar, who received nothing at the rich man's table, now holds the seat of greatest intimacy and honour at the eschatological feast with the father of the faithful. Both versions render it "side" for English clarity, but the original word points to intimate, honoured nearness.
