The "filling of hands" derived from the physical act of placing sacrificial portions into the priest's palms (vv.27–28), enacting the full transfer of priestly authority. The seven-day duration mirrors the creation week — a complete consecration-cycle — suggesting that the ordination of a priest is a sacred act of new creation. F.O.G preserves "milu'im" and the bare idiom; F.O.G Message unpacks it with "fill your hands with the fullness of your office" to make the investiture language audible in English.
