Millu'im (מִלּוּאִים, from male', to fill) is the technical priestly term for ordination, literally meaning "fillings" — the act of ordination was conceived as a "filling of the hands" (see v.33). The imagery likely originated in the physical act of placing offerings into the priest's palms (vv.27–28), which constituted both his empowerment and his identity. F.O.G retains the transliteration "milu'im" to preserve this filling-imagery; F.O.G Message uses "ordination" for accessibility. The concept anticipates Colossians 2:9 — in the Messiah "the whole fullness (pleroma) of deity dwells bodily," the ultimate Priest whose hands are filled with all of God.
