Footnotes
Tenufah (תְּנוּפָה) / "His own hands" (יָדָיו תְּבִיאֶינָה): The phrase "his own hands shall bring" is emphatic in Hebrew — yadav tevie'inah, literally "his hands, they shall bring" — stressing the worshipper's own bodily participation. This is not a priestly act done on behalf of a passive giver; the offerer himself must carry the sacrifice to the altar. The tenufah (wave offering) involved a forward-and-back motion, likely enacting a symbolic presentation to YHWH and reception back — a physical grammar of giving and being given to. F.O.G. retains tenufah; F.O.G. Message uses "wave offering," the familiar English equivalent.
