Asham (אָשָׁם) / Kodesh Kodashim (קֹדֶשׁ קָדָשִׁים): The asham carries a double weight — it names both the guilt itself and the reparation paid to repair the breach, functioning more like a restitution payment than a vague moral feeling. F.O.G. retains the Hebrew to preserve that specificity; F.O.G. Message renders it 'guilt offering,' the closest traditional English equivalent. 'Most holy' translates kodesh kodashim, literally 'holy of holies' — the same superlative construction used for the innermost sanctuary, placing the asham at the apex of the sacrificial system.
