The Hebrew u-matah yado (וּמָטָה יָדוֹ) — "his hand has tottered / slipped" — is a visceral idiom for economic collapse, the image of a hand losing its grip. F.O.G renders "his hand falters" to preserve this physicality; F.O.G Message moves toward the meaning: "can no longer support themselves." The following command, v'hechezakta bo ("hold him firm"), uses the opposing root — chazak, strength and firmness — creating a deliberate contrast: when his grip slips, let yours be strong.
