zikhron teru'ah (זִכְרוֹן תְּרוּעָה) = "memorial/remembrance of teru'ah"—teru'ah (תְּרוּעָה) is a loud alarm, battle cry, or trumpet blast; zikhron (memorial) is the same word used when Elohim "remembered" Noah (Gen. 8:1) and Rachel (Gen. 30:22), denoting God's active, saving attention to His own. Notably, this text does not explicitly command a shofar; Num. 29:1 calls the day simply "a day of teru'ah." F.O.G preserves the Hebrew phrase to honour its layered ambiguity; F.O.G Message renders "memorial of trumpet blasts" to draw out both the auditory tradition and the covenantal-remembrance dimension.
