Footnotes
The eighth day is a recurring marker of new beginning in the Torah — transcending the completed seven-day cycle — appearing at priestly consecration (Lev 9:1), leper purification (Lev 14:10), and circumcision (Lev 12:3). It signals re-entry into sacred time and space, pointing theologically toward an eschatological new creation that surpasses the weekly Sabbath rhythm.
