Torat (תּוֹרַת, 'Torah of' / 'instruction of') is the closing formula marking the end of a discrete priestly teaching unit. Torah does not primarily mean 'law' in a statutory sense but 'instruction, teaching, direction' — the priest's role throughout this chapter is not merely juridical but pedagogical, training the community to recognise, handle, and respond to ritual impurity. The F.O.G renders 'Torah' as a technical term, honouring its instructional weight; the F.O.G Message uses 'law governing,' which captures the regulatory function. This closing formula recurs throughout Leviticus (cf. 6:2, 7; 7:1, 11; 11:46; 12:7), marking each unit as a self-contained priestly torah.
