נֶצַח (netzach) spans strength, endurance, perpetuity, and glory. "Endurance" (F.O.G) emphasises the capacity to keep going; "future" (F.O.G Message) captures the sense that all prospect of good outcome has been extinguished. Both represent legitimate ranges of the word; the verse records the nadir of despair immediately before the great reversal of vv21–22.
