חֵטְא חָטְאָה — infinitive absolute construction: "she has sinned a great sinning" — extreme, emphatic moral collapse, not casual failure. לְנִידָה (leniddah) = to the state of niddah — the ritual impurity of a menstruating woman (Lev 15:19ff), requiring exclusion from the community. This is shockingly intimate: Yerushalayim, the holy Bride of YHWH, is cast out as ritually unclean. F.O.G renders "revulsion" (the visceral social rejection); F.O.G Message uses "defiled" to draw out the cultic-covenantal dimension; both are valid faces of the same word.
