This theophanic march from Se'ir/Edom echoes Deuteronomy 33:2 and Habakkuk 3:3, establishing a pattern of the divine warrior advancing from the south. *Shamayim nataphu* ('the skies dripped/poured') uses the same verb as the manna-like provision language elsewhere — creation responding to its Sovereign. FOG renders *shamayim* as 'skies' for physical concreteness; FOG Message uses 'skies' but heightens the cosmic upheaval to draw out the image of creation unmade before its King.
