Megiddo (*Har Megiddo* in Hebrew) will echo across history as the site of decisive cosmic battle (Rev. 16:16). The explicit note that the enemy kings 'gained no silver' is sarcastic victory poetry — the powerful chariot-kings who came to loot left with nothing. The waters of Megiddo may refer to the Kishon River system (v.21), whose flooding proved fatal to Sisera's iron chariots.
