That the palm tree is named *Tomer Devorah* ('the Palm of Devorah') implies she was already a figure of such renown that a landmark bore her name. Palm trees were associated in the ancient Near East with wisdom, justice, and divine presence—a fitting seat for a prophetess-judge. The verb *'alah* ('came up') reflects the physical geography but also carries its familiar cultic resonance: Israel ascending to the one who holds the divine word, as they would go up to the sanctuary.
