The one person in Gibeah who acts with hospitality is himself a גָּר (*ger*) — a resident alien, a sojourner — not a native Benjaminite. The grace comes from the outside. This precisely mirrors the Sodom narrative, where Lot — also described as one who "came to sojourn" (Gen. 19:9) — alone offered refuge to the strangers. The indictment of Gibeah's native sons is total. They do not even have the dignity of the city they condemn.
