The narrator again deploys the precise ordination formula *male' et-yad* (מִלֵּא אֶת-יָד, "filled the hand") — the same technical phrase used for Aaron's ordination in Exodus 28–29 and repeated from verse 5. Micah had already attempted this rite over his own son; now he performs it over a genuine Levite, evidently believing this upgrade legitimises the entire enterprise. The repetition is the narrator's irony: sacred forms are being meticulously observed in the service of a fundamentally prohibited worship system. Ordination cannot sanctify an idol-house; correct personnel do not correct corrupt worship. FOG makes the Hebrew idiom explicit; FOG Message translates its ritual function.
