The place name *Ramat-Lechi* (Height/Hill of the Jawbone) converts geography into a permanent memorial. This is a consistent Judges pattern: landscape is named after defining events (Bochim in 2:1; Gideon's altar in 6:24). The throwing down of the jawbone may echo the ritual discarding of a holy-war instrument — the tool of YHWH's victory is released rather than kept as a personal trophy, returning it to the ground. FOG preserves the Hebrew compound; FOG Message renders "Jawbone Hill" to make the etymology immediately accessible.
