It is Jean Paul's lifelong work, unfolding in public — and you're invited in.

He works from a personal encounter with Jesus first, then draws on the scholarship of respected Jewish and Christian scholars — because the church was Jewish before it was anything else, and those roots change everything about how you read Scripture.

This verse contains one of the Hebrew Bible's most celebrated untranslatable puns. The Hebrew reads *bi-leḥî ha-ḥamôr, ḥamôr ḥamōrātayim* — "with the jawbone of the donkey, a donkey, two donkey-loads." Three elements share the *ḥ-m-r* root: *leḥî* (jawbone) doubles as the place name Lechi; *ḥamôr* (donkey) sounds like *ḥōmer* (a heap or dry measure); *ḥamōrātayim* is a dual form suggesting double heaps. The wordplay is simultaneously comic, heroic, and mocking. FOG uses *chamor* to keep the Hebrew sound audible; FOG Message expands "heap on heap, pile on pile" to echo the stacking, doubling effect of the original.
