הֱצִיקַתּוּ (hetsikatthu), from צוּק (tsuq), means to press, constrain, or place under crushing pressure — not gentle persuasion but sustained, suffocating force. FOG renders it 'pressed him hard'; FOG Message uses 'worn him down' to convey the exhausting, cumulative weight of her grief. The pattern is unmistakable to any reader of Judges: this is a dress rehearsal for chapter 16, where Delilah's identical technique — persistent weeping and pressure — achieves the same result with catastrophic consequences. Shimshon's fatal character flaw is exposed here first, quietly, at a wedding feast.
