Thirty sons riding donkeys signals a dynasty of wealth and influence — donkeys were prestige transport in the ancient Near East, associated with nobility and rulers (cf. Judg. 5:10; 12:14). The thirty towns named after their father amplify this portrait of a ruling family embedded in the land. *Chavvot* (חַוֹּת) means 'tent-villages' or 'encampments,' giving the place-name a nomadic-settlement flavour that 'cities' can flatten.
