The seventh day's seven circuits bring the total to thirteen (one each on days one through six, plus seven on the seventh), but the weight falls entirely on the sevenfold Sabbath climax. The choice to rise *ka'alot hashachar* ('at the rising of the dawn') signals urgency—they begin in the half-dark, before full light. The narrator's deliberate redundancy—'seven times...they circled the city seven times'—is emphatic, not accidental, a drumbeat of anticipation building toward the moment of collapse. Both translations preserve the repetition; FOG preserves the dawn imagery precisely.
