The bones of Joseph—which the Israelites had carried all the way from Egypt—were buried at Shechem, in the plot of ground Jacob had purchased from the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, for a hundred pieces of silver. This land became the inheritance of Joseph's descendants.
And the bones of Yosef, which the sons of Yisra'el had brought up from Mitzrayim, they buried at Shekhem, in the portion of the field that Ya'akov had bought from the sons of Chamor, the father of Shekhem, for a hundred kesitahs. They became an inheritance for the sons of Yosef.
