παιδία (paidia) is literally "children" or "lads" — a colloquial address from a figure of authority to workers or younger men, carrying informal but warm condescension. FOG renders it "Lads" to preserve that slight authority differential. FOG Message uses "Friends," following a broader idiomatic tradition that captures relational warmth but softens the address. προσφάγιον (prosphagion) specifically means "something eaten alongside bread" — a relish or side-dish, in this context almost certainly fish — so both versions render it colloquially rather than literally.
