Two words carry enormous weight here. *Se'arah* (whirlwind/storm) is the same word used in Job 38:1, when YHWH finally answers Job out of the whirlwind—an agonising irony: Job is being crushed by the very medium through which God will later speak. *Hinam* (without cause/for nothing) is the same word the Accuser uses in 1:9 ('Does Iyov fear Elohim for nothing?') and YHWH's own verdict in 2:3 ('without cause'). Job's accusation lands exactly on the mark—which is the theological earthquake at the heart of the book. FOG renders 'without cause'; FOG Message uses 'for no reason' for emotional directness.
