The Hebrew *niddudim* ('tossings') is a plural of intensity — not a single restless turn but relentless, compulsive thrashing. *Nesheph* ('twilight') is the in-between time, dusk or dawn — the word itself describes a threshold, neither fully night nor day, which deepens the sense of Job's limbo. FOG renders the irony: he waits for dawn, but the waiting itself is full to overflowing.
