*Natiyv* (נָתִיב) — his path or wake — the word for a track or road, here used for the glowing phosphorescent trail Leviathan leaves in the water. *Tehom leseivah* (תְּהוֹם לְשֵׂיבָה) — 'the deep as white-haired' — *seivah* is the hoariness of old age, grey/white hair. The tehom being turned white-haired evokes both the white foam of churned water and the strange image of the primordial abyss going grey — as if Leviathan's passage ages even the deep itself. FOG retains *tehom* in transliteration for its Genesis 1:2 resonance; FOG Message translates it as 'the deep' to maintain the poetic image.
