*יַעֲשֹׁק* (ya'ashok) means 'to oppress' or 'to press violently upon'—the river is cast as an aggressor bearing down on Behemoth. *לֹא יַחְפּוֹז* (lo yachpoz), 'he does not tremble/flee in haste,' is the language of panic under assault. The specific mention of the *יַרְדֵּן* (Yarden/Jordan) is geographically vivid: the Jordan at spring flood was a formidable torrent (cf. Josh. 3:15). That even the Jordan surging into his mouth cannot unsettle him underscores total, cosmic imperturbability. FOG preserves 'Yarden'; FOG Message uses the familiar 'Jordan.'
